Emotional escape rooms

Emotions are trending right now. After almost two years of being confound to our homes, it’s no wonder people want to create their own oasis to get away from it all within their interiors. This is one search term across Pinterest that is universally popular across all age groups. Searches are up a whopping 150% for rage rooms and 190% for home massage rooms, but it doesn’t stop there. Music themed rooms, crystal rooms and tiny library rooms are also driving the search traffic.

Biophilic design

Nature has been a huge trend over the past year, as we connected more with it and brought it into our interiors. Whether it was green paint colours, an increase in the houseplants in our homes or garden rooms, it was a really important part of 2021. Next year however, Pinterest predicts plant-first design solutions will find their way into our living rooms to increase our nature connections and enhance our wellbeing. From staircase gardens to biophilic interiors and floral ceilings, we’re definitely going green! No room is safe, as searches for biophilic office design, biophilic bedrooms and biophilic architecture are all on the up, too.
