Grand Designs Live returns to NEC Birmingham from 5-9 October 2022. The leading self-build and renovation event is packed with advice, inspiration, architects, kitchen and bathroom specialists and more to help you start, finish or perfect your home improvements project.

New this year is the Interiors Theatre. Running in partnership with The House of Upcycling, the theatre offers up to six talks a day covering topics from energy efficient interior design to rental decor tips and even upcycling demos. Good Homes picks out some of the best interiors talks at Grand Designs Live 2022…

1. Psychology of Colour

5 October, 12pm

Interior stylist and colour consultant Sarah Twigg Doyle, founder of ReTwiggd, takes to the stage to discuss the power of colour psychology in tailoring the right palette for you. Rather than starting from scratch, Sarah’s approach is to creatively mix old and new, displaying collected treasures in an imaginative way to tell the stories of your home.

2. Dream Kitchen Inspiration

6 October, 4pm

Looking for inspiration for your new kitchen? Keith Myers, kitchen designer and director of The Myers Touch shares his expertise on taking all those ideas you’ve seen in magazines and online and turning them into a beautiful kitchen that works for you.

3. Home staging to help sell your house

7 October, 3pm

Rachel Burditt, founder of Declutter Darling, has a passion for restoring order and calm in your home. She also knows a thing or two about home staging – the art of making a home more saleable using aesthetic strategies from simple cleaning and tidying to rearranging furniture and redecorating. Pick up her top tips for a faster sale.

5. The Real Reno – buying the house no one else wanted

9 October, 1pm

Join Laura Deller of popular Instagram home renovation account @houseproject_36, as she shares her experiences of taking on a full house renovation while caring for two young children. Laura offers her realistic and humorous experiences of renovation life over the past three years, which taken her 70s home from an ugly house to a lovely home.
