Bosch launches Bosch FreshUp to refresh clothes instantly
Bosch has created a handheld electronic device which dissolves odours from fabrics. This means it can refresh them instantly without the need for water, solvents or detergent.
The product is the first of its kind in the world and harnesses the power of plasma to break down odour molecules. It’s set to be revolutionary, and will forever change the way we wash and dry our clothes going forward.
How does the Bosch FreshUp work?
The plasma in the Bosch FreshUp dissolves the bonds between odour molecules, breaking them down, unlike sprays which merely mask smells. Even tough odours such as cigarette smoke and body sweat can be removed with this, leaving clothes as fresh as if they have been hung on the washing line to dry.
As the Bosch FreshUp uses plasma to dissolve odours, rather than putting clothes through the harsh cleaning process of machine washing and tumble drying, which can shrink, tear and discolour fabrics, it is completely safe to use. It can be used on silk, cashmere and wool, which would ordinarily need extra care, or even vintage pieces and dry-clean only items.

How often can I use it?
Bosch FreshUp is lightweight and simple to use. So much so in fact, that it’s perfect for on-the-go and packing for holidays, as it can easily fit into your handbag and is rechargeable with a standard micro-USB charger. Each charge will last for up to 60 minutes, and it won’t need any extra cleaning substances or maintenance to work, simply keep it in its case until it’s needed. You can even use it on clothes you’re wearing!
