10 best free firework displays in the UK

If Bonfire Night is one of your favourite dates in your annual diary, we’ve put together a list of the best free fireworks displays to visit this year. It’s time to wrap up warm and enjoy the show!

1. Clacton Pier fireworks display – Clacton

To say a massive thank you to its all-year-round customers, Clacton Pier has organised an impressive fireworks display for everyone to enjoy, and it’s completely free. Go and enjoy the amusements and the other attractions they’ve got there as well as enjoying the display itself.

2. Victoria Park fireworks – London

Hosted by the mayor of Tower Hamlets, this year’s free firework display is themed on the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s moon-landing voyage and features glittering visuals paired with a themed soundtrack – of course! There will be lots of food and drink on offer before the display starts.

3. Midsummer Common Guy Fawkes night – Cambridge

Go and enjoy a night full of fairground rides, food stalls and spectacular fireworks at the Midsummer Common in Cambridge. Entry is free but a donation of £3 is strongly encouraged. The first rocket will be launched at 7pm, so be there or be square!

4. Spark in the Park – Sherdley Park, St Helens

As part of a constellation art project, this firework display is one of Merseyside’s biggest. Entry into the event starts at 6pm and is totally free!

5. Bath City Farm Bonfire Night – Bath

Join the guys at Bath City Farm for a delicious BBQ, reggae beats and the biggest bonfire in Bath! There’s no need to book in advance, you can just turn up on the door and get in for free. Watch the fireworks with the view of Bath in the background – amazing!

6. Forest Recreation Ground Bonfire Night – Nottingham

The largest and most central bonfire celebrations in the city will be packed with fairground rides and delicious food stalls, all centred around a roaring bonfire. It’s also the biggest free Bonfire Night event in Nottingham with two displays, one at 7:15pm and one at 9pm.

7. Fireworks spectacular – Marine Parade, Lymis Regis Dorset

Join the crowds of people who will go and enjoy a fantastic fireworks display over Lyme Bay and warm themselves by the bonfire on the beach. The fireworks will begin at 6:30pm and shortly after the bonfire will be lit at 6:45pm.

8. Tamworth’s firework extravaganza – Tamworth Castle Grounds

Tamworth’s free fireworks spectacular returns to Tamworth Castle for another exciting event. The whole family can enjoy an evening of entertainment including fire performers, face painting and a sparkler zone!

9. Glasgow Green fireworks – Glasgow Green, City Centre

This fireworks display is set to music and has the city’s iconic People’s Palace and Winter Gardens as a stunning backdrop. Visitors are welcome on to the green from 5pm but fireworks kick off at 7:30pm.

10. Bitts Park fireshow – Bitts Park, Carlisle

Following a bonfire, more than 2,000 fireworks will light up the sky, starting at 7pm. Pre-entertainment will start at 6:30pm and the fairground will be open between 5-9pm on Castle car park.
