Fearne Cotton’s career has taken an interiors twist in recent years – not only is she the host of the BBC’s Interior Design Masters, she has a range of kitchen products with Swan. Now, she’s also been announced as the ambassador for Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2020, Tranquil Dawn.

“I think I have become addicted to decorating, painting in particular,” she says. “In the past year, I looked at my house and thought it was actually quite boring in terms of the decor. I’ve tried to be braver, with things like painting ceilings in colour – I’d never considered the ceiling before!”

However, when it does come to her own interiors, Fearne is quite guarded with what she gives away, and we have to make do with a few glimpses garnered through the star’s social media account.

We took a deep dive into her Instagram to get to know her home style.

Bold moves

Fearne’s living space features a fabulous statement bookshelf along one wall painted in vibrant, leafy green. Invigorating, fun colours can be expected elsewhere in the home, bringing all the joy that you’d expect from the host of The Happy Place podcast.

Fearne also featured on The Great Indoors podcast last year, giving Sophie Robinson and Kate Waston-Smyth a tour of her home – you can search for the episode wherever you consume your podcast, or read more in detail on Kate’s Mad About the House blog.

Here, we can see her kitchen – a classic white Shaker style. However, we love the pendant lights over the island to that give the space a lot more character.

It’s clear that Fearne also loves to incorporate some vintage, rustic pieces in her home, which is also filled with lots of personal artefacts. We also love the beautiful proportions of her period property.

This big, beautiful wicker chair inhabits a light-filled corner of her home. You can buy a similar style from Cox & Cox.
