Did you catch our interview with interior designer Pearl Lowe? In it, she talked to us all about how she’d described her signature interior style, and gave us the inside scoop on her new book, Faded Glamour, published by Cico Books.

To celebrate the launch of this coffee table essential, here’s a little sneak peek at one of the beautiful spaces you’ll find within its pages – Pearl’s own master bedroom at her home in Frome, Somerset.

We’ve delved into some of the secrets of this amazing room to let you know how you can recreate the look yourself.

Upholstered velvet bed

Pearl’s striking velvet bed is undoubtedly the centrepiece of the bedroom. While there are plenty of budget-friendly statement beds you can choose from around at the moment, this particular bed is the Manette, from Soho Home.  Pearl has expertly tied in the striking forest green colour with flashes in her accessory choices, making for a perfectly proportioned colour palette.

Layered textiles

Fabric is the key to recreating Pearl’s eclectic, faded style. Create layers with a mix of materials, patterns and textures. Haven’t got a rug large enough for your space? Overlap a series of small rugs of varying styles for a relaxed, bohemian look.

Mirrored vanity table

While Pearl’s pretty vanity table is an antique that has travelled with her from home to home, you can create the look yourself by searching out a piece from an antique market or vintage shop, or opt for a new piece. Thi vanity table from Wayfair will offer a similar effect.

Wallpaper

The wallpaper in Pearl’s bedroom is from prestigious decorator Robert Kime, who has even designed interiors for the royal family. If you’re desperate to capture Pearl’s essence in wallpaper form, good news – she’s just released a new Faded Glamour wallpaper with Woodchip & Magnolia.

Paint effects

Pearl added a beautiful armoire as an infill to existing built-in cabinetry. By using a two-colour chalk paint effect, she’s united the pieces of furniture and created a distressed look that captures the Faded Glamour aesthetic.
