Good Homes Approved: The Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress

The Good Homes Approved team reviews the Simba Hybrid Pro mattress…

Looking for a hybrid mattress? These multi-layered mattresses combine both springs and foam layers, making them ideal if you like the bounce of a pocket-sprung mattress and the enveloping comfort of foam. A hybrid mattress is ideal if you often switch sleeping positions, offering support for side-sleepers as well as front and back-sleepers. But with so many options on the market, where do you start? With research…

Design

  • This state-of-the-art hybrid mattress offers exceptional airflow quality with its two layers of micro-pocket Aerocoil springs (approx. 5,000) and upper-comfort layer made from British wool, which regulates body temperature and provides a great night’s sleep
  • The super-light springs act as mini bellows, pushing warm air away and keeping the body at a cool temperature
  • The Simba Hybrid Pro’s clever layered system features an extra layer of wool, a thicker top cover that acts as a sleeping surface and two layers of micro springs beneath its open-cell foam layer, which offers different levels of support below the shoulders and hips
  • The tested and trusted CertiPUR foam is verified as free from ozone-depleting substances and ensures low emissions to protect indoor air quality
  • The mattress has two handles on either side, making it easier to turn, even if you do this alone – Simba recommends you do this once a month for the first few months after sleeping on it, then once every 3-6 months after this
  • The Pro, with seven layers, is 30cm thicker than the regular Hybrid, which has five layers (for a mattress with 10 layers, check out the Simba Hybrid Luxe)
  • It’s suitable for most fitted sheets, although we used the deep version as it covered the entire mattress

Delivery & additional services

  • Free delivery within 5 working days to your chosen room. Contact-free delivery is available
  • Delivered downstairs, the mattress arrived vacuum-packed, and as the box was quite weighty it needed two people to carry up the stairs
  • Easy-to-use online booking system
  • Option to spread the cost over 12 months
  • 200-night money-back guarantee – this seems to be double the length of most mattress companies – and also means you can sleep on the mattress for more than six months to see if it’s right for you
  • 10-year guarantee

Assembly

  • We left the mattress in the box for a few days before unpacking, then once unpacked it took around six hours to spring into shape
  • Comes with a Simba-branded cutter to aid unpacking

Performance

  • Supportive yet extremely comfortable at the same time
  • No sinking feeling and much more bounce than other mattresses
  • A consistently good night’s sleep from the first night!
  • Body kept at a regulated temperature
