Pinterest reveals it’s trend predictions for 2026
Pinterest has once again shared it’s trend predictions across fashion, food, make-up and of course, home and decorating.
The overall message this year has been that consumers are seeking comfort, authenticity and optimism to quiet the noise of the negative news and social media.
Trends are also growing faster than ever before, in fact 4.4x faster than 2019 which was just 7 years ago. The three key concepts of the trends this year actually are helping to avoid trend fatigue, and include:
- Emotional comfort and belonging
- Curating, not copying
- Grounded optimism
Pinterest’s Global Head of Trend and Insights, Sydney Stanbank explains: “Pinterest is the perfect place for people to escape overstimulation through trends that don’t create social comparison or FOMO.
“Instead, these trends preserve individualism and personal identities.
“In 2026, people will make these trends their own, putting unique spins on each and ensure that what’s trending never comes at the cost of personal expression.”
Here we outline each of the trends that link to our interiors, and share a few of our favourite interiors buys which suit each one.
1. FunHaus
Bold is beautiful in 2026, and the bigger the better!
This year, circus-inspired home decor is on the rise thanks to boomers and millenials being brave with their colour choices.
Think bold stripes, sculptural silhouettes and a wink of clownish charm.
To make it work, balancing is key. Pair punch-line patterns with scaled-back palettes so the space can feel elevated, with a touch of camp, without becoming too much.
Searches for circus interior are up a whopping 130%, and vintage circus aesthetic up 70%.
On a more niche level, searches for striped ceiling is up 40% while circus art is up 35%.
Part of the focus on circus-themed interiors appears to be in our children’s spaces with searches for circus nursery up 50%.
