Softer geometric styles

Monochrome geometric tiles, whether traditional or modern, have been the go-to bathroom trend for some time, which means 2020 is time to mix it up to keep your space feeling fresh and ahead of the curve.
For a new twist on the trend, look to softer contrasts than pure black and white. Don’t be bashful of colour, whether a light pastel or striking jewel tone, to add an extra dimension to your geometric scheme.
Twist on traditional

Traditional doesn’t mean the same as old-fashioned, and even where you’re drawn to classic styles in a period home, this trend is all about having fun with design.
Take for example this traditional half tile trim from Original Style. While it may be a classic look in itself, teamed with this on-trend, vibrant shade of Classic Blue, it takes on a new and exciting exuberance.

Metro tiles are always a popular choice, but to give this look an extra edge, look out for tile designs that have natural texture from their handmade processes.
This helps give your bathroom scheme depth and interest, and can help you ensure that the space doesn’t feel too flat, cold and clinical.
3D designs

Choose three-dimensional tiles with a raised profile for an easy way to create a sense of luxury that doesn’t always come with a high-end price tag. These Anchor Chalk tiles, for example, are based off the design of tin tiles – a feature in many super stylish homes that use reclaimed and vintage materials.
Natural variation

Another trend to help simple colours avoid falling flat is to use small amounts of variation in colour with each tile.
These Rose Gold tiles from Tile Mountain, for example, have a subtly darker patches across the design, giving the overall finish more pattern and texture.
