The avocado suites of the 70s may have left a rather haunting impression, but green is a seriously chic colour for bathrooms.
What’s more, is that green bathrooms are one of the biggest bathroom trends for 2025, so love it or loathe it, now might be the time to go green…
Whether you want to stick with green walls or tiles, or have neutral walls and coloured sanitaryware, take a look at these brilliant green bathroom ideas.
1. Green bathroom flooring
Flooring can make a green statement, even if you keep the rest of the bathroom away from it.
Alex Heslop, Trend Expert from Flooring Superstore shares his expert advice on how to embrace the green trend through your flooring choices.
“Primary Play is all about letting your inner child shine and transform your interiors into a playful space.
“Colour is a great way to add a touch of fun to your interior, but if it’s not done quite right it can make a space feel overwhelming, particularly in smaller spaces.
“Coloured tiles are a great way to make a statement and will suit many more neutral interiors. As well as creating a focal point, a pop of colour can make a space feel warmer and inviting.
“By choosing colours like green – you are helping to evoke feelings of happiness.
“To incorporate colour in a more understated way, opt for a pastel colour palette to strike that balance of achieving a playful yet calming space.”

2. Green paint
If you want the green effect to be more prominent without going full avocado bathroom, using green in your décor can be a good compromise.
We love this concept of half green wall, half white tile to get the best of both worlds. It gives off earthy tones in the bathroom space and feels clean and modern, which is exactly what a bathroom should be.
This shade is a green with grey undertones so it isn’t as prominent as you could go, but this effect is perfect to dip your toes into the green trend.

4. Sage bathroom storage
It’s not all about walls. Some of the best green bathroom ideas involve painted cabinets.
They’re a great way to embrace the green and look great when used with other colours, too.
Charlotte Tilby, Head of Marketing for Calypso Bathrooms & Veldeau explains.
“In 2024 and leading into 2025, we have seen consumers embracing earthy greens in the bathroom.
“Matte finishes have also surged in popularity for their tactile qualities and light-diffusing properties, fostering a gentle ambience that complements the spa-like atmosphere consumers now seek in standard bathrooms.”
We love how this green cabinetry works with the marble effect tiles to give off a really luxurious look in this spa-style bathroom.

Utilising different textures in your green bathroom can give a natural world effect, and we love the concept.
Whether you’re opting for green flooring, feature walls or simply a green fixture, adding texture can further cement the ‘natural world look’ that green offers.
We love this marble design behind the basin.
It oozes an elegant vibe whilst also embracing the green trend, and there are plenty of ways you can recreate this in your own home.

From shower curtains to bath mats and curtains, we love the idea of just adding more greenery to your bathroom.
Plants can thrive in that part of your home, just be sure to research which ones are going to benefit most from the steam and varying temperatures.

7. Going full green
If you want to really embrace the green bathroom trend, then full green is the best option – think walls, tiles, textures, cabinetry, accessories, and the fixtures.
It doesn’t have to be a throwback to the 1970s avocado suites of the 1970s though.
The green bathroom of the modern era has much more chic and depth, with a huge selection of styles and shades to suit your style.
