How did the collaboration with Etsy come about?

Etsy approached us and asked if we would be interested in creating a collaboration together with some of their sellers. We thought this was such a great idea and we were so thrilled to start working together. Etsy is such a fantastic website highlighting brilliant independent sellers so we couldn’t wait to start working together with both Etsy and the sellers themselves!

Have you had the idea of a lifestyle collaboration in mind for a while?

At Zoella we had just worked with a fantastic neon sign company which went really well and was such a fun project. I’ve always loved interiors, styling and home décor since I was a teenager! It’s so nice to be involved in something which showcases and highlights independent sellers and things that we all have such a huge interest and passion for. A lot of the content we produce on Zoella is very lifestyle focused, so it felt like the perfect fit.

How did you select which sellers you wanted to collaborate with?

Like a lot of people, I have items in my home that I love styling, purchasing and probably own too many of, so I already knew which style of home décor items were going to be top of the list! We then had meetings where Etsy was able to provide us with a long list of sellers for each item and together we were able to look through these and see who would be the best fit for the collaboration – those that blended my passions and aesthetic with theirs.

Did you look at specific current trends when thinking about the collection or is it based on your own style and preferences?

I’d say it’s a mixture of trends and personal preferences. We created a mood board for this collaboration with pattern, design and a colour palette that we thought would work well across the collection and with Etsy we were able to curate some fantastic final products. Once those items all came together it was amazing to think they weren’t all designed and created by the same person as they fit together perfectly.

Which are your favourite items in the collection?

I do already own a couple of the Atelier Stella ceramic pots which are already dotted around my home, so it was wonderful to get to work with her as part of the collection. I also love the Elley Home cushions designed and created by Egle. The designs are gorgeous and they are of exceptional quality!

Did the interior of your home inspire the collection in any way?

My house has a lot of grey tones with bright pops of colour throughout, in things like art, cushions, bedding! I’ve always loved interior design and home styling and believe that with these things you can really customise a space in your home. The mustard tone that features in a lot of the products was a key colour for me as it’s something I feel really compliments tones of grey and also marries well with other colours, specifically the blue tones!

What interiors trends are you loving / hating right now?

I’m not a fan of acrylic furniture or a house full of white walls, but am loving delicate floral wallpapers and four poster beds – neither of which I have but still lust over when I see them!
