It’s the most anticipated Christmas advert of the year – yes, the John Lewis & Partners Christmas advert has arrived!
Again teaming up with Waitrose & Partners, this year’s advert sees a message to ‘Give a Little Love’ this Christmas through acts of kindness.
The advert is part of a campaign supporting two charities which have helped those hardest hit by the pandemic in 2020. Together John Lewis and Waitrose are aiming to raise £4 million for FareShare, a charity which helps those facing food poverty, and Home-Start, a service providing support for parents who need it, with the John Lewis Partnership matching any customer donations up to £2 million.
How to Give a Little Love
You can ‘Give a Little Love’ in five key ways: making a charity donation, buying campaign products with 100% of profit donated to the charities, using your loyalty card to increase the Partnership’s donation, giving a little love to someone you know who needs it and helping in your local community.
The variety in animated styles and film used within the advert is also an act of kindness in itself, not working with a single production team, but providing jobs for a multitude of animators and filmmakers, who may have been impacted by the pandemic.

We want this campaign to be uplifting and to inspire everyone to give some kindness in their own way this Christmas, especially to those who need it most. The pandemic has proved that it’s our small acts of love and kindness, particularly in challenging times, that captures what it is to be human; and when one small act of kindness multiplies it can have a lasting impact.
