The best way to get peace of mind when it comes to cleaning is to make sure you are killing bacteria. Fisher & Paykel’s DishDrawer™ dishwasher has a sanitise mode which raises the temperature during the rinse phase to kill 99.9% of bacteria when washing dishes. You can also invest in self-cleaning ovens and washing machines to minimise bacteria growth.

Whether it’s cooking, cleaning, laundry, or caring for your pets, there are also some golden rules for household hygiene that should be regularly carried out. These include focusing on germ hotspots such as the kitchen, dining table and toilet. Wash reusable cloths at 60˚C or disinfect them after each use, rather than using single use paper towels.
