Colour palette: Sugared almond décor ideas
August 16, 2022
Once the reserve of wedding favours, sugared almond is enjoying a second coming as the pastel du jour. The pale plaster-meets-rose shade is perfect for creating a serene pink scheme that stops way short of full-on Barbiecore. Good Homes magazine picks out some of the best buys and sugared almond decor ideas…
1. Sugared almond bedspread
A great way to introduce any new colour scheme into your bedroom is with bedding. You can try it out for size without spending much money, and change it with the seasons as you crave warmer or cooler colours. This Aurès cotton double duvet cover in Nude is £35, with matching pillow cases for £7 each, from La Redoute. For a similar headboard, try Rubin by Fernleaf (£316.74 from Wayfair).

2. Peachy wall art
Another great cheap and easy décor cheat is the gallery wall. Inject a little sugared almond into your scheme without changing your wall colours by injecting your new favourite shade via a selection of co-ordinated prints. This Blush Gallery Wall Set of five prints is available from Abstract House for £383, or you can pick up individual prints from the set for around £53 each, including frame.

3. Pale pink sofa
Eschew the grey sofa for something more fun, like a pink sofa! This Bagsie Sofa from Loaf is a softer, cosier, more modern version of the classic Chesterfield, with a deep-buttoned back and plump seat cushions (from £1,945, with matching footstool from £435). The marble side table (£345), small flute table lamp (from £75) and shaggy rug (from £395) are also from Loaf.

Creating that interiors magazine-chic doesn’t have to cost the earth. The Elona tall vanity chest of drawers, £425 from Made.com, is sleek, stylish and right on trend, with its sweet sugared almond colouring, copper hair-pin legs and useful mirrored lid.

6. Pink palm-print wallpaper
Palm-print wallpaper is a huge trend that shows no signs of abating, but why not flip that trend and opt for a white-on-pink version? It’s tropical, but peachy and serene. This Areca Palm plant wallpaper from Bobbi Beck – available in both pink and green – is priced from £69 per roll.

Add an accent
Earthy tones like rust and terracotta add depth to this modern neutral shade, but to make it really stand out, introduce pops of rich gold such as Dulux’s Golden Bark 4, £33.11 per 2.5ltrs of mixing matt emulsion.
