Little Greene launches latest National Trust wallpaper collaboration
Wallpaper and heritage fans rejoice – the latest Little Greene x National Trust wallpaper collection has arrived! Eight historic designs found at three of the National Trust’s historic houses have been recreated in a number of colourways to create a timeless new collection for the modern home.
Original source material found at three of the National Trust’s historic houses, Oxburgh Hall and Felbrigg Hall in Norfolk, plus Newark Park in Gloucestershire, forms the basis of Little Greene’s National Trust Papers III. It represents over 200 years of decoration, and employs traditional methods of printing that have remained unchanged for over 100 years.
Hand-painted birds, stylised florals and a traditional Toile de Jouy all feature in the collection. There’s also one wallpaper design that has been recoloured and revived from the Little Greene archive.
Available in 45 colourways, Little Greene’s National Trust Papers III reinterprets the colour drenching paint trend that envelopes interiors in bold, tonal hues. These designs include Poppy Trail in shades of Masquerade pink, as well as Hoja in four colourways, including Hellebore and Air Force Blue.
‘It is thrilling to see how the places in our care continue to inspire our visitors, but also contemporary interior design with the creations of new collections in conjunction with Little Greene,’ says Becky Stanford, Brand Licensing Manager for the National Trust.
‘However, our enduring relationship goes beyond the creation of wonderful wallpaper and paint collections. In addition, Little Greene undertakes research into our original wallcoverings, designs and colourways, allowing us to learn more about the collections in our care,’ she continues.
Little Greene launched their original collaboration with the National Trust, a collection of paints called Green, in 2018. A year later, a second collection called National Trust Papers launched, and then National Trust Papers II. In 2021, Little Greene launched the Stone paint collection, featuring 22 colours inspired by National Trust properties.
‘Our collaboration with the National Trust allows us to uncover incredible designs and colours that can be shared with the nation through new wallpaper and paint collections,’ says Little Greene’s Creative Director, Ruth Mottershead.
‘The contributions made from the sale of every roll of National Trust wallpaper and each tin of paint goes towards supporting the National Trust’s conservation work, to ensure the nation’s historic houses, gardens and landscapes can be enjoyed for years to come,’ she continues.
All the wallpaper designs are printed on an easy-to-apply non-woven substrate, and cost £102-£118 per roll (or £244 per mural panel). Find out more at littlegreene.com
