Christmas house tour: ‘the winter light here is perfect’

Sarah Allchorn, an interior designer (styleinfusion.co.uk) is the owner of this fabulous three-bedroom converted and extended barn, built in the early 1800s in Oxfordshire. Take a tour around its gorgeous Scandi-inspired festive makeover.

Rustic Scandi living

Painted panelling and a stylish Danish woodburner give this space its cosy, Scandi-inspired feel. The bespoke sofas upholstered in an Ian Mankin stripe are teamed with a statement rug from William Yeoward, and Sarah chose Eichholtz mirrors and a Graham & Green console for added texture, all adorned with fresh foliage and candles for a simple, festive look.

Family dining

Sarah re-upholstered the salvaged carver chairs in a striking William Yeoward fabric, and the glass fronted dresser, left by the previous owner, was altered to fit perfectly. This wonderful open dining space is perfect for family get togethers and hosting small events.

Contemporary kitchen

In the new extended space, walls are painted in Pleasington White by Crown Trade and Howdens kitchen units have been topped with durable Caesarstone quartz worksurfaces. Bright blue upholstered Eichholtz bar stools add a pop of colour.

Grand entrance

Sarah has created a warm festive welcome to her home with a showstopping real tree. ‘My decorations tend to be simple whites and silvers, with a few flashes of blue to pick up the colour theme through the house.’
