Sneak peek: elegant Scandi dining at Ideal Home Show Christmas 2019
It’s not long until the Ideal Home Show Christmas throws open its doors for another year, and you’ll get the chance to see our latest GoodHomes room sets!
Our Christmas styling elves are busy in their workshop creating two living rooms and two dining rooms interpreting the latest trends in interior design and festive entertaining, so we thought we’d give you a little preview of one of the schemes – our Elegant Scandi dining room.
Read on below to find out some of our hero pieces, and how we’ll be styling them in this chic, modern dining space.
Ideal Home Show Christmas runs from Wednesday 20th November to Sunday 24th November, at Olympia London.
Marble dining plates

Furnishing the dining table in our Elegant Scandi scheme is the Marblesque collection by Maxwell & Williams. This range of decorative glass servingware has an alabaster swirl design which is available in 4 colours. We’ll be using the beautiful black colourway, but you’ll also find them in white, powder blue and mint! Our dining scheme will feature these plates, bowls and serving dishes alongside black table linen, brass cutlery and fresh green foliage.
Cluster chandelier lighting

Room set sponsor Fritz Fryer is known for its luxury lighting offering, and the Hereford cluster chandelier will be the crowning glory of our dining scene. This cluster of pendants can be arranged in multiple formations, but we love this ‘dish’ configuration, where all the pendants hang at the same height. Each is made to order, so can be created with a huge range of flex colours and metal finishes.
Wine cooler

Fridge space is never in shorter supply than around Christmas, so we love the idea of having an entertaining area with a dedicated fridge for wine bottles. Our Christmas room set will feature a Husky Lifestyle Signature wine cooler, stacked with our favourite festive tipples.
Black and gold decorations

To complement the rustic Scandi elements of the scheme, we’ll be bringing the festive spirit with a collection of decorations from Poundland‘s affordable Christmas offering. From these cute ornaments to charger plates and crackers, there are some great options for decorating on a budget.
Terracotta tones
To bring a different, on-trend twist to the Scandi aesthetic, we’ll be creating a room set filled with warm red and oranges tones, from the wall paint to the furnishings. This Panama Burnt Orange curtain fabric from Blinds Direct will definitely set the tone for a warm, cosy feel.
