This moisturising pillowcase could transform your skincare routine

You might have heard that sleeping with a silk pillow can reduce wrinkles, but this new pillowcase takes the idea of getting your beauty sleep to a whole new level.

This new pillowcase product from Nanu is a little bit different from your everyday slip. The Yu-Nu pillowcase is made from a fabric that has been enhanced with carotenoid-producing probiotics – something that the makers say are clinically proven to rejuvenate skin and reduce wrinkle depth. Seemingly these are the same antioxidants found in fresh fruit and vegetables and can help to repair damage to the skin caused by ageing, while you sleep!

The pillowcases come in a set of two, for £35 from Nanu – however, it’s worth knowing that the pillowcases can only be washed up to 12 times on a 40 degree wash before they lose their moisturising ingredients.

You could always keep both pillowcases for yourself – that way a set will last twice as long! Based on washing a pillowcase once a week, a set would then last up to 6 months.

However, even if you’re not going to invest in these clever pillowcases, it’s worth considering how your choice of bedding may be affecting your beauty sleep – after all, cheaper bed linen materials may contain substances that are drying out and irritating your skin.

Why not opt for a silk case for your pillow come bedtime? There’s scientific proof that thanks to less friction between your skin and the fabric, silk pillowcases can help to reduce wrinkles and also help you to avoid bed-head!
