Get inspired by the flora and foliage trend bursting into bloom this season, with harmonious greens and dusty pink accents taking centre stage.

Taking elements from the moodboard of our botanical bedroom roomset at the Ideal Home Show Spring 2018 can be achieved with these simple styling tips to create a calm, rejuvenating atmosphere.

Use white as a backdrop to bring plants to life

Opting for shades of white such as magnolia, ivory or cream for your bedroom scheme will give you more freedom when it comes to choosing botanical accessories.

Crisp white bedding will allow you to be more daring with floral prints. Putting up a shelf will allow you to display a selection of succulents, tropical plants, candles and glass terraniums for an interesting focal point.

Embrace modern floral prints

This season, there are lots of prints inspired by nature and the great outdoors. Layer your bed with floral or insect print bedding and offset the delicate patterns with bright striped pillows and add texture with a luxurious throw.

Frame your bed with a display shelf, filled with greenery and freshly cut flowers on the bedside table, which will also keep your bedroom smelling nice.

Add a touch of nature with framed prints

Make the most of your bedside table by injecting a sense of nature into your bedroom scheme by getting out in your garden and pick a few freshly cut stems.

Display them in a collection of various sized vases and vintage botanist style jars, with framed vintage insect specimen prints and rustic accessories.

Bring the outside in

Hanging trees and trellises aren’t just for the garden. Introduce them into your bedroom to bring a little bit of the outdoors in.

Make a soft green hue your backdrop and combine with a mix of prints in pastel shades to create a serene space perfect for snoozing.

Play with greens

If you’re not one to shy away from a vibrant colour scheme, why not try playing with different shades of green?

An exotic mix of green, crisp white sheets, black antique furniture and gold accessories will create a sophisticated, luxurious take on the trend.
