Use feel-good colour combos

Use colour and design to brighten spaces that are darker and have less natural light. Using a vibrant colour palette instantly brings a sunny vibe to a dull room. It will enliven a space while instantly creating a more homely feel. Try this! A simple way of introducing more colour to your scheme is by choosing a contrasting, fun colour for the skirting boards.

Add modern texture with metallic prints

Metallic wallpaper is the perfect way to add dimension to your space. Small, subtle prints create glistening textures perfect for neutral spaces, while large scale patterns and geometrics are the height of modern glamour. Choose soft gold to strike a harmonious balance in tonal spaces meant for relaxing, rose gold for feminine sophistication, or silver for bolder spaces meant for entertaining.

Create impact with wallpapered panels

One of the latest interior trends is panelling. Panelling is a popular choice for adding elegance to a room and allows you to be bold with pattern without overpowering the room. Use a perfectly paired colour to accentuate the design of the panelling and make a truly impactful interior space. Another look is to panel half of the wall and wallpaper above. This technique works beautifully for rooms with high ceilings.

For a modern take on panelling why not wallpaper the top half of your wall and paint the lower to create a beautiful feature wall.

All four walls

Pattern is so prevalent everywhere right now and the use of wallpaper on all four walls helps establish a homely feel. It showcases your individual style whilst being quick and easy to update. This interior tip works beautifully within the transitional space of a hallway. Transform your hallway with a strong hit of pattern.

Top Tip: unless yours has a window, be sure to choose a design that can be combined with neutrals for an airy look. If you’re inspired by a wallpaper that is not your usual taste, try using it in a smaller space such as a downstairs toilet – a guaranteed talking point.

And finally, think about the colour flow of your house from one room to the next; pick shades that sit beautifully together for a calming, cohesive feel and also to create the illusion of larger rooms.
