Looking to give your kitchen a refresh but don’t want to spend any money doing it? Here are a few free decorating ideas to inspire you.

Kitchen renovations aren’t cheap but there are many ways you can switch up the space without breaking the bank. We spoke to thinkmoney about ways to transform a kitchen for free during lockdown.
Remove your cabinet doors

Remove your kitchen cabinet doors to display your favourite dishes or to create a Pinterest-worthy pantry with jars. Purchasing new cabinets or open shelving isn’t cheap but transforming the wall furniture you already have is!
Recycle glass bottles

Rather than purchasing a new vase, recycle your favourite glass bottles to house your favourite flowers or to use as an interesting centrepiece. If you need to remove a label, use nail varnish remove. Also, if you’re feeling extra frugal, forage for free flowers.
Create a sweet display

Rather than purchasing new kitchen ornaments, use second-hand glass jars to display sweets, biscuits or even fruit. Oranges, lemons and limes make the perfect pop of colour. Finish off your jar with a pretty ribbon or bespoke labels.
Get arty

Create your own artwork to jazz up your kitchen shelves. Try using gold foil personalise a boring mug or a sheet of glass. Or, if you’re currently homeschooling your kids, use their artwork to decorate your kitchen for a heartwarming touch.
Add a table runner

Add a DIY table runner to your dining table or breakfast bar for a splash of pattern and interest. Use a fabric strip or an oversized scarf for the illusion of a bigger table. It will break up the large expanse of table you have and also protect it.
