Ideal Home Show: 10 unmissable celebs & experts

Heading to the Ideal Home Show at Olympia London this spring? Plan your visit so that you don’t miss your favourite celebrities and experts live on stage with this guide to who’s on and when…

The Ideal Home Show returns to Olympia London from 17 March-2 April 2023. There’s so much to do at the award-winning event, whether you simply plan to shop for all things homes and gardens, visit the new Spring Clean Stage, take part in a workshop, explore the Good Homes roomsets, relax in the Pamper Lounge, or simply hang out at the Champagne Bar.

Plus, as ever, you can seek out the talks and demos from the Show’s celebrities and experts. Here, Good Homes picks out some of the most unmissable appearances…

1. Scarlette and Stuart

Scarlette and Stuart Douglas are sibling property developers making a name for themselves on TV presenting Channel 4 home and renovation programmes such as Worst House on the Street. They made their presenting debut together when they took over Phil & Kirstie’s Love It or List It for Black to Front Day, and have also co-presented George Clarke’s Flipping Fast. With first-hand experience in property development (together run their design company, Kindred Elite), the pair are set on sharing their expertise and insight with newcomers and old hands in the housing market.

2. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen

Perhaps best known for the iconic BBC programme Changing Rooms, Llewelyn-Bowen is an interior designer known for his love of colour and all things flamboyant. In 2020, he designed a furniture collection with Artisan Furniture, consisting of handmade, solid-wood pieces made extra special with luxury finishing touches. He is presenting the upcoming Channel 4 series, Outrageous Homes with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

3. Phil Spencer

Phil Spencer has presented 20 series of Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location alongside Kirstie Allsopp. His passion for property emerged when working for an estate agent in Canterbury. Having gained a surveying degree in 1996, Phil founded Garrington Home Finders – one of the very first property professionals to focus on the interests of buyers.

Where and when? Phil will be sharing his top tips for first-time buyers and also offering an insight into buy-to-let properties on 17 & 23 March at the Super Theatre. View the full timetable here.

4. Martin Lewis

Martin Lewis CBE founded the Money Saving Expert website in 2003, and it soon became the UK’s biggest consumer advice site. According to Google, he is the UK’s most searched-for British man, which probably comes as no surprise as many struggle with their finances during the Cost of Living crisis. For over 15 years, Martin has appeared as the resident money expert on TV shows like Good Morning Britain, This Morning and Lorraine.

5. Rosemary Shrager

TV favourite Rosemary Shrager has appeared on programmes including This Morning, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Rosemary Shrager’s School for Cooks and the unforgettable Ladette to Lady. She has worked with the likes of Pierre Koffman and Jean-Christophe Novelli, and has been head chef at Moyns Park. She also opened Rosemary Shrager Cookery School in 2013 and Shrager’s Patisserie in 2014. So who better to share expert tips and tricks to help you cook the perfect Christmas dinner?

6. David Domoney

Chartered horticulturalist and TV presenter David Domoney is resident garden expert on ITV’s This Morning and Love your Weekend, and co-presents ITV’s Love Your Garden alongside Alan Titchmarsh. David is a strong believer in the power of nature and plants to boost mental and physical wellbeing, as outlined in his bestselling book, My Houseplant Changed My Life. The book was interpreted as an exhibit as the Chelsea Flower Show 2021, winning an RHS Gold Medal.

Where & when? Become a houseplant expert in 30 minutes with David on 17, 21, 28, 29 & 31 March and 2 April at the Super Theatre. On 31 March, he joins Miss Mason Cleaning to show you how to keep your house clean using products that cost less than £1. View the full timetable here.

7. Kate Hardcastle

Kate Hardcastle MBE, AKA The Customer Whisperer, is the UK’s go-to consumer insight expert for national TV and media and is a font of information about coping with the cost-of-living crisis. She has successfully turned around ailing retail brands and shopping centres, created powerful consumer brands and consults on business redevelopment, restructure and takeovers. As well as being the consumer champion for ITV’s Eat Shop Save, she has lent her expertise to the likes of Rip Off Britain and Inside Out.

8. Lisa Faulkner & John Torode

Relatively new cookery power-couple Lisa Faulkner and John Torode, hosts of ITV’s Weekend Kitchen, will be bringing their onscreen chemistry to the Eat & Drink Stage at Ideal Home Show. After winning BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef in 2010, Lisa Faulkner switched her focus from acting to cooking. She published her first cookery book, Recipes from my Mother for my Daughter, in 2012. John Torode MBE, presenter of BBC’s MasterChef and Celebrity MasterChef, began working at Le Pont de la Tour and Quaglino’s as a sous chef under Terence Conran, where he met co-presenter Gregg Wallace – and the rest is history!

9. Laura Mountford

Laura Mountford, known as ‘Lauracleanaholic’ on Instagram and TikTok, motivates and inspires her audience to find joy in looking after their homes and themselves at the same time. She worked in retail for 18 years before becoming a full-time content creator and influencer in 2020. She now works with leading homecare brands including P&G, Unilever and Philips, and has been featured in Vogue, The Daily Express and Glamour Magazine.

10. Cliff Tan

Feng shui – the ancient Chinese art of placement – is having a moment, and expert Cliff Tan is on hand to help you make simple changes at home to ease awkward energy flows. A qualified architect, he is known for his ability to plan and optimise tricky spaces using the ancient Chinese Art, and founded Dear Modern to share his knowledge with a wider audience. Cliff also authored Feng Shui Modern, launched an online course on the same subject and has become a TikTok sensation!
