A good mattress is essential for a good night’s sleep, and well worth spending money to get the best you possibly can.
Mattresses should be replaced roughly every seven years, so you need to make sure you’re happy with your choice (save seven years of bad sleep).
The new Simba Hybrid Ultra boasts the perfect balance between cosy comfort, natural materials and the latest in sleep technology.
But does it deliver? Our experts put it to the test.
Here’s why the Simba Hybrid Ultra deserves to be Good Homes Approved…
Simba Hybrid Ultra: design and materials
The Simba Hybrid Ultra mattress is designed with luxury in mind. It’s made from natural materials offering optimum support, with Simba’s highest ever spring count which means premium comfort.
It also offers a double layer of specialist Simbatex foam for more indulgent cushioning.
This is unique to Simba – using the latest in mattress technology and design.
The Simba Hybrid Ultra is made with the company’s own blend of kapok, wool and bamboo which gives an extra fresh top layer to the mattress.
The product also ticks out sustainability boxes as it’s made within the UK in specialist mattress factories. Once you’ve finished with the mattress, you are also able to recycle it through Simba’s collection service scheme.

Comfort?
The Simba Hybrid Ultra mattress is described as medium firm, and that’s about right.
It hits the perfect balance of being firm, will still making you feel like you’re sleeping on a soft, cosy bed.
The Hybrid is so called because it combines both foam and springs to give your body optimum comfort.
The foam is in two layers for a cushioning effect, alongside the spring-like layer.
The wool and bamboo materials keep you cool in the night and fresh in the morning, which we’re confident will be appreciated in the summer to help stop the night time sweats.
Simba Hybrid Ultra review: maintenance
One of the questions we had before trying out the Simba Hybrid Ultra was whether it needed to be flipped.
You’ll be relieved to hear the answer is a resounding no, instead, you simply need to rotate it – which is a easier, but as the mattress is heavy we definitely recommend roping in someone to help.
Rotating the mattress is recommended when it comes maintaining its promised comfort – it’s also one of the few conditions of the Simba 10-year warranty.
During the first three months, regular 180-degree spins are recommended to ensure even wear, after that, you can ease into a more relaxed schedule, rotating just twice a year.
