5 garden furniture trends for summer 2023

Due to revamp your outdoor space? Then a perusal of the latest garden furniture trends is a must. Whether you’re planning to simply put up your feet and relax, or host all sorts of summer soirees and family gatherings, the latest outdoor garden furniture pieces are equally about style and durability.

The five garden furniture trends set to turn up the heat in 2023 are:

  1. Curved furniture
  2. Hanging chairs
  3. Wooden furniture
  4. Monochromatic designs
  5. Outdoor entertainment

1. Curved furniture

Curve appeal is a big deal for 2023. Softer, curvier edges create a playful, welcoming vibe, ideal for social gatherings. Round garden tables and curved sofas encourage conversations among guests, and ensure that nobody feels left out stuck on the edge.

2. Hanging chairs

Hanging chairs, or egg chairs, give serious holiday vibes. The gentle swinging motion creates a feeling reminiscent of lazing about in hammocks in exotic climes. This one not only looks great on your Instagram feed, it’s also the perfect spot to relax and unwind with a good book on a sunny afternoon.

3. Wooden furniture

Create a warm, organic feel with the timeless appeal of wooden furniture. Versatile, comfortable and sustainable, wooden garden furniture looks great in a range of outdoor spaces, from cosy cottages to contemporary corners.

It does need a little care though: ‘Regularly clean your wooden furniture to remove dirt, debris and stains,’ says Dominic Walsh of solid wood furniture company Off the Grain. ‘You can do this using mild soapy water or a white vinegar solution – just be careful to avoid harsh chemicals. It’s also a good idea to apply a protective finish, such as wood oil or sealant to help protect it from the elements.’

4. Monochromatic designs

This garden furniture trend is for those who like simplicity and elegance. Select pieces and accessories that focus on a limited colour palette – ideally just two colours like black and white. Tables, chairs and sun loungers with a monochromatic colour palette are ideal for those who want to experiment with colour a little, while still allowing the nature element of their garden space to do all the talking.

5. Outdoor entertainment

Indoor-outdoor kitchens, outdoor living, outdoor entertainment… warmer summers mean we can’t get enough of the al fresco life. Garden furniture that boasts features such as Bluetooth speakers, built-in charging stations and LED lighting are becoming popular to enhance ambiance.
