There is an ever-increasing demand for aluminium glazing. The industry is expanding at a considerable pace in the UK alone, with homeowners, self-builders and architects readily acknowledging the design benefits – such as thinner profiles and sight lines – and the improved thermal efficiency aluminium windows and doors bring.

Suffolk-based Livingwood are combining their 50-plus years of building industry experience with an appetite to manufacture energy efficient, aesthetically stunning, low-maintenance aluminium windows and doors. The company, led by founders, Antony Jackson and Toby Golding, are experiencing rapid growth at their base in Bury St Edmunds’ Hillside Business Park.

Livingwood supply domestic and commercial projects, underpinned by a reliable nationwide network of installers. The company’s exceptional growth curve has been due in no small part to their decision to become sole manufacturers and sellers of products designed by one of the leading aluminium glazing brands on the continent, Reynaers.

The New Anglia Growth Hub helped to partly fund Livingwood’s £100,000 investment in state-of-the-art CNC machinery within its manufacturing centre, which operates in sync with Reynaers’ software system to calculate the manufacture of all Reynaers products in-house to the millimetre.

Livingwood is one of a small group of manufacturers focusing firmly on aluminium systems due to its sustainability as a material and the improved thermal performance for their customers.

Reynaers’ contemporary range of products feature ultra-thin sight lines which actually improve the U-value of glazing, despite the size of the glass structure itself.

For instance, the spectacular Hi-Finity aluminium sliding doors can carry glass panes of up to 750kg in weight, making floor-to-ceiling glass a genuine possibility for homeowners thanks to this low-energy contemporary architecture; seamlessly blending a property’s interior and exterior.

With plans to move into even bigger purpose-built premises, an innovative and sustainable product range and the ability to provide bespoke installations using Reynaers’ configurations, Livingwood are trend-setters and very much here to stay.
