May 19, 2017
Unleash your inner artist by combining bright shades of pink and blue with pretty pastels for a lively, feminine scheme.

Love this room
- Introduce painted and natural wood into this scheme through staple pieces, such as the bed frame, to help temper lively hues.
- Keep window dressings simple to avoid them competing with busy patterned soft furnishings and accessories. Stick to sheer fabrics and untreated linens.
- Add finishing touches that will inject an element of fun – try sewing bobble trims on the edges of cushions or string up a line of twinkling fairy lights.
Touch of Gold

Styling Tip
When combining different patterns, stick to one palette so they sit together harmoniously. Layer the more decorative prints in front of a solid block of colour.
Try this twist
For a more soothing effect, keep things simple and tonal with a mix of organic materials, such as exposed brick and linen fabrics. Turn your bed into a focal point with patterned sheets, and fi nish the look with some statement lighting and a shaggy rug.
