We love these new illustrated basins for the bathroom

Say no to boring sinks with this new bathroom range from Burlington featuring decorative floral motifs.

There’s nothing like gleaming white porcelain in a bathroom for a fresh, clean feel, but let’s be honest – it can sometimes feel a little bland. Where we’re used to get creative with colour, pattern and texture elsewhere in our homes, the bathroom can fall a little flat comparatively.

That’s why we love this new bathroom range for Burlington as a way to introduce something special into your space through your basin and WC.

The Decorated Collection is a new design collaboration between the brand and illustrator Julie Ingham, who has designed a range of motifs across Art Deco, Floral, Favourite Places and Bespoke Lettering – though our favourites are undoubtedly these beautiful botanical prints.

However, the idea of patterned sinks and WCs is not a knew one, according to the designer, drawing inspiration from decorated designs of bygone eras. “I wanted the hand-illustrated designs to be a celebration of historic decorative ceramics,” explains Julie, “to bring a modern twist to the traditional incorporation of colour and pattern into a bathroom.”

Each design is made to order by skilled craftspeople based in Staffordshire in the UK, and each individual pattern is applied by highly trained ceramic lithographers onto basins and WCs in the Burlington Edwardian collection.

Because of the bespoke nature of this collection, you can expect to pay a little more to bring these beauties into your home. Prices for a basin and pedestal start from £584.
