Decorating with black is super on trend but can be a tricky look to achieve. Will you be moving over to the darkside?

Black is definitely the new black!

It can be a daunting prospect incorporating black into a space, but we've put together a few of our favourite Instagrammers that have perfected the look.

If you're ready to take the plunge, why not also check out our beginner's guide to decorating with black?

@nadscasa1

Nadia's eclectic home is a real treasure trove which uses black as a dark and moody backdrop. Her bedroom boasts painted black walls and an amazing jungle-themed wall mural that sets off the entire room. She has added pops of colour with her choice of rug and a vibrant pink 'Ooh la la!' neon sign.

@patirobins

Believe it or not, Pati's beautifully black home is a rented property, which proves you can add buckets of personality while keeping the landlord on side. Her living room is now iconic in the Instagram world, specifically her eclectic gallery wall, which is complemented by her love of the colour black and greenery. We love her choice of black frames that blend in with her painted walls.

In between sessions digging up the damp, mossy side of our back garden to plant a new fern and flower bed, I've spent this weekend thinking a lot about everything that's changed for me in the last year. In April 2018, full of anticipation (and a healthy dose of fear), I clicked a little button online and registered myself as self-employed, put the finishing touches on my website, and started working with my first interior design clients. I never made some grand announcement on Instagram, probably because I'm more of a creeping-out-of-my-comfort-zone-on-the-sly kind of gal than a grand-opening-extravaganza sort of person. Just call me the interiors ninja, stealthin' in to style up your space. New tagline? No? Anyway, building a business isn't always easy but I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to help some really lovely clients transform their homes, set my own schedule, make my own rules, work in my pyjamas a whole lot, and have the freedom to (mostly) make my job work around my life instead of the other way around. And it all started with me sharing the ups and downs of my own reno here on Instagram, so a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way - you're the best and I can't wait to see what my second year in business brings. Have a lovely Sunday evening guys 🖤 . . . . . #livingroomview #fireplacedecor #sittingroomdecor #mantledecor #fireplacegoals #fireplacemantel #livingroomdesigns #mantles #manteldecor #mantels #luxehome #décorationintérieure #interieurstyling #indretning #livingroomfurniture #modernluxuryinteriors #smallbusinesslife #mymodernlook #myhomebeautiful #londoninteriordesigners #londondesigners #creativebusinessowner #smallcreativebusiness #selfemployedlife #cosyhome #innenarchitektur #smallbusinesslove #mylivingroom #livingroomideas

Black definitely lends itself to a more maximalist interior style, however Kristine proves that it can be pared back and sophisticated. She has cleverly offset her black living space with dark teal to make her home feel less stark. She has incorporated brass accents to add a touch of luxury, too.

@renovating_ethelwolf

Black bathrooms, specifically black fittings and fixtures are a massive trend for 2020. Laura has added a rustic edge to her monochrome bathroom with a large wooden panel, which is set behind her sink and vanity area. She has also chosen black patterned floor tiles to complement the black shower enclosure, which is effortlessly chic!

KITCHEN REVEAL 💕 Swipe for before | It's finally here! This has been the biggest job of the house... It wasn't something we wanted to do so quickly as budgets were tight, but when we found out rats were nesting in the old kitchen on day 1 of stepping foot inside our new home, we knew we couldn't really live there until it was sorted. We waited 4 months for planning permission and were so lucky with our amazing builder that the kitchen was up and running by mid summer. We've been putting a few finishing touches in before revealing it to you all, but it's pretty much there & I'm so excited to see what you all think. ⁣ ⁣ There's an in-depth blog post on sophiehannah.co AND video tour on my YouTube channel - will pop swipe up links in my stories 💕 ⁣ ⁣ The kitchen has been inspired by @houseofscotton & @divinesavages - so thank you for your inspo 😘 This room is by far my favourite in the house. It honestly makes me smile inside when I'm in the space. We can finally host our friends & family, the dogs have a bigger living space & room to run around & it's just perfect. It's all we've ever dreamt of & to us it's 'goals' 🙌🏻 ⁣ ⁣ I'm going to write a blog post on how we whittled down our kitchen design ideas AND the renovation progress, so watch this space! I just knew you all wanted to see the end results first 😂 ⁣ ⁣ Ps. Thank you to all the amazing brands who have worked with me on this space! ⁣ ⁣ Kitchen Units @howdensjoinery ⁣ Worktops 'Empira White' @caesarstone_uk (discounted) ⁣ Flooring @moduleo_uk (gifted)⁣ Wallpaper @divinesavages (discounted) ⁣ Artisian Mallow Rose Tiles @best_tile_ (discounted) ⁣ Dining Table & Bench @madedotcom (gifted) ⁣ Black Dining Chairs @cultfurniture ⁣ Bar Stools @cultfurniture (gifted) ⁣ Pink Velvet Chairs @ckhomeliving ⁣ Tap @taps4less ⁣ Radiator @bestheatinguk ⁣ Rug @podevache ⁣ Oven @rangemasteruk ⁣ ⁣ #sophiehannahhome #kitchenreveal #beforeandafter #pinkkitchen #blackkitchen #howdens #moduleo #caesarstone #openplankitchen #kitchendining #homerenovation #kitchenextension #bifolddoors

Sophie's new kitchen extension definitely proves that black and pink are a winning combination. She has broken up her black shaker units with a white quartz worktop and a bold wallpaper by Divine Savages. Using pink in her kitchen scheme has softened the overall look and makes it feel super modern.
