Lighting can change the ambience and entire feel of a room. Take a look at the latest lighting trends for spring summer 2020.

Next Spring Summer Lighting Range

It's time to say goodbye to cosy mood lighting and say hello to bright, light spring freshness!

These are the lighting trends that we've spotted and think are going to be a huge hit this spring summer.

Rattan shades

Natural materials are a huge trend for 2020 and can be incorporated into your lighting choices, too. Rattan is so popular right now for the effortless, boho vibe that it gives off. We love the softness of a rattan lamp shade as well as the beautiful lighting patterns it will create through the gaps in the weave.

LED lighting

A more sustainable and eco-friendly lighting option is LED, did you know that LEDs are 80% more efficient than your standard light fitting?

Not only are they a better choice for the environment, but they can create a beautifully sleek look too - just like the dining scheme pictured above by My Furniture.

Pop of pastel

With the changing of seasons also comes a change in colour palette. For spring/summer, vibrant pastels are a great choice for adding a splash of colour to your space.

We love this contemporary Jamelia design from Dunelm, which feels very of the moment!

Funky filaments

Sometimes it's the smallest details that make the biggest statements. The funky filament trend is one we truly can't get enough of and Oliver Bonas are definitely satisfying our lust for it.

Opt for a bulb with a heart filament for a romantic gesture, or how about this lightning bolt design to add a dose of fun to your home this spring?

Fringed lighting

Next Spring Summer Lighting Range

Fringed lighting designs used to be an item you'd only be able to pick up from high end retailers, however, the high street has finally caught up this season. A particular favourite of ours has to be the Clarendon shade from Next, which is available in both pink and grey.

Fringed lighting would be a fab addition to a maximalist home, which enjoys mixing up colour, print and texture. Or, if you want to add a vintage touch to a space, changing your light fitting is an affordable option.
