With the news that Pinterest has seen a 265% increase in saves for 'indoor garden' ideas, we got Ian's top tips for creating an interior garden, whatever space you have,

A stylish space saving idea

If lack of space is a problem, hanging plants are a great option. Dry-loving houseplants are a good choice here, so think about Rhipsalis or Scindapsus.

Monstera, the gorgeous cheese plant is another choice, hang it before it gets too big and enjoy the wonderful shadows it will cast across the room.

Create a plant shelfie

Group some of your favourite plants on a shelf along with other possessions to create a very personal shelfie.

It’s such a lovely way to arrange plants and makes the most of their different sizes and textures. (When creating shelfies, just make sure the plants have similar requirements for light levels).

Open plan space divider

Group taller plants together to create a ‘garden’ within the space which also acts as a beautiful room divider.

New garden trend: Houseplants in water

Dispense with earth and pots altogether and expose the roots in a clear vase of water.

Try Sanseveria or Clusia to create a strong look and remember to change the water every two weeks.
