Decking is a wonderful way to boost your garden and make the most of your outdoor space. But choose the wrong one and you’ll be dealing with rot, warping, cleaning and replacement.

Whatever the weather

The Great British weather often has a surprise up its sleeve for us. Unusually hot springs, unusually wet summers – it likes to keep us guessing. When we do get glorious days, a decking area can be a great outdoor escape. Perfect for relaxing with the family, barbecues or just a quiet day watching the grass grow, it truly transforms the exteriors of our homes.

However, traditional wooden decking is at the mercy of that same weather, often warping or rotting, becoming slippy or stained. It needs a lot of cleaning and, often, complete replacement. Unlike Millboard’s decking…

Beyond composite

Millboard wood-effect decking uses a pioneering combination of mineral stone and wood-free polyurethane to create a stable resin material. Highly stable, it’s rot, warp, slip and stain-resistant.

While traditional composite boards retain wood elements, Millboard’s garden decking doesn’t, meaning it won’t harbour insect larvae or damp. In other words, it has been designed with year-round effectiveness in mind for gorgeous anti-slip decking that is primed to deal with the elements.

A detailed approach

The attention to detail, however, is what makes it so aesthetically beautiful too. Every Millboard piece is hand-moulded from natural timbers for a completely natural effect. While composite decking is formed by extrusion into ready-made shapes, these decking boards draw their inspiration directly from nature, with carefully selected master moulds.

An example of this is the Weathered Oak range, which is moulded from handsome 100-year-old French railway carriage planks. Millboard’s team then hand-paint and finish the boards for a true-to-life tonal timber look that is indistinguishable from the original.

Try it on for size

Millboard’s timber-realistic look coupled with the fact that it’s better equipped for weather and minimal maintenance than its competitors has made it a huge success. The wide colour palette and range of textures have featured at the Chelsea Garden Show and Ideal Home Show, in Channel 4 Studios and many other iconic builds, gardens and projects.
