Bathrooms have a reputation for being a little boring - all white metro tiles, white porcelain and not much else. However, if you look a little beyond the basics, there's a whole world of colour out there ready to be adopted into your bathroom.

From bathtubs to tiles, basins to taps, evey element of your bathroom can be bought in a beautifully bright shade in this day and age.

Take a look at some of the ways you can add a colourful touch to your space with these many-hued bathroom elements.

Tiles

If you've experimented with colour in the bathroom before, it's most likely to have been with your choice of tiles. However, you don't have to limit yourself to just one colour or style in a bathroom. Think about mixing colours by combining tiles of different scales - an oversized wall tile with a small format, or a metro tile with a mosaic, as in this set-up by Fired Earth - to ensure your choices aren't battling each other in the scheme.

Bath

A colourful freestanding bath may sound like the things that dreams are made of, but that are expensive additions to a bathroom renovation. However, this rolltop bathtub from Victorian Plumbing is under £400 - a steal!  If you have an existing cast iron bathtub, you could also consider painting the outside of it to your own custom colour choice to match your scheme.

Taps

You may be up to date with the trend for gold, rose gold and black brassware, but how about this for something different. Basin taps in bold, exciting colours such as orange, yellow, pink and blue are becoming popular, especially in high-end, design-forward bathroom schemes.
