Embrace country charm and forage for foliage, pine cones, bark and moss to decorate your dining table. Delicately scatter them around the middle of your table to create an enchanting, festive woodland frame for your centrepiece.

You can also use a selection of herbs and succulents in different size pots to create an interesting focal point on your table that has a natural, organic feel.

Combine and contrast texture, materials and colour

Combine textures and materials throughout your dining room such as whitewashed wall panels which will provide a clean and crisp backdrop for industrial-look steel and aged oak.

Contrast a palette of icy blue interiors with deep navy painted window frames and/or fireplaces to bring depth to your space.

To create a distressed paint finish, wait until your basecoat has dried then dab a small amount of Vaseline onto a paint brush, and brush it gently over the corners and edges of your pot. Apply a top coat and once it has dried, carefully rub away the colour at the corners and edges with a rag or paper towel.
