Decorate your living room in shades of pink

January 2, 2017

Banish the winter blues by decorating your living room with uplifting shades of blush pink, cool mint green and fresh aqua.

Love this living room

  • Use a harmonious colour palette of soft pinks and grey to create a relaxed scheme. You can add interest with one or two items in an accent colour such as olive green.
  • Can’t find the perfect piece of furniture? Buy an unfinished table or sideboard and paint it in the shade of your choice to perfectly co-ordinate with your scheme.
  • Warm textures and layers will add depth to your room, choose a deep-pile wool carpet and a chunky knitted pouffe.
  • Keep the look contemporary by adding geometric pattern on cushions and vases.

Good Idea

Update the pastel look for the new year by teaming soft lilacs and lavender shades with rich navy blue. Use it on cushions, throws and painted furniture.

Styling Tips

Try painting a mantelpiece, skirting boards, architraves and internal doors in the same colour to create a seamless effect.

Spray paint glass bottles and candlesticks in matt pastel colours to display on your mantelpiece. Fill with single white anemones and coloured candles.

Pale pink & soft lavender

Use this gentle palette of colours in your own home and team with textured fabrics, geometric shapes and abstract prints.

Pattern Play

New cushions can transform a sofa; for a contemporary Scandi look mix geometric designs with plains in suede

Fresh Colour

Give your room a modern twist by painting the mantelpiece in the same chalky pastel colour as the walls.
